David-Martin Milot, MD

David-Martin Milot has worked as a specialist physician in public health and preventive medicine, since 2018, at the Direction régionale de santé publique de la Montérégie.

With a diverse practice spanning health promotion, prevention, and protection, he became the Regional Director of Public Health in 2025. As an associate professor, researcher, and co-scientific director of a global health center at the Université de Sherbrooke, he is recognized for his expertise in health inequities, mental health, homelessness, and community development.

Involved with the humanitarian organization Médecins du Monde Canada since 2008—where he currently serves as Chair of the Board—his career bridges institutional, academic, and community sectors.

You cannot prevent what you do not measure. By documenting the mortality of people experiencing homelessness, we are finally giving ourselves the tools to understand the full scope of the issue and respond to it responsibly.
