Léonie Archambault, PhD

Léonie Archambault is an establishment researcher at the Institut universitaire sur les dépendances of the CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’île-de-Montréal and an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Université de Sherbrooke. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a PhD in Health Sciences Research from the Université de Sherbrooke.

Her work focuses on substance use in complex situations, particularly in contexts of perinatal care, homelessness, mental health disorders, and chronic pain. She is interested in integrative health approaches and interventions led by individuals with lived experience to support personalized recovery processes. Her research is grounded in the framework of social determinants of health.

The deaths of people experiencing homelessness raise significant ethical, moral, and social concerns. A better understanding of the scale and circumstances surrounding these deaths will help guide strategies to reduce the inequalities that contribute to them.
